First Resident Artist at Dwight-Englewood!

 Liam sought inspiration from pop culture, his own experience and even the D-E mission statement.

A silkscreen workshop with 8th graders where Cannon was assisted by our very own D-E parent & master printmaker, Sue Evans, pictured below with her daughter.

Sue & Cannon making final decision with a large silk screen being applied to the collaborative mural in Swartley.  Cannon's silkscreen was created from a photo he took in South Africa of a 'graffiti wall' in the town where the Freedom Charter was signed.  Sunday happened to be the Anniversary of the charter being signed.

Cannon signing one of a series of prints created in Swartley with the help of arts chair, Gregg Emery.  This print will be added to the Dwight-Englewood permanent collection.   This completes a semester long project in which Cannon Hersey helped jumpstart what we hope will be a Resident Artist tradition at Dwight-Englewood.  You can see more of his work on his website, http://www.cannonhersey.com/
